The life and times of being down under................but most likely a lot of blah blah blah!

Falling out of bed = too much beer!

What a past few days it has been! So much to tell........so here we go....................

With it being our last week in Sydney there has been lots going on , nights out, festivals, drinking, dancing..........general acting like a crazy person! I've found gay porn dvd's in the street and been repeatedly asked by what I can only assume was a pimp if I was stalking him? Only in Kings Cross!

So party week started on Wednesday as it was my last night working at The Sugarmill. Decided to have a few drinks with my work-mate Rebecca and the "One last staffy" turned into many more wines and a trip to Kit and Kaboodle Club for even more! I was a really good night and although I felt a tad delicate the next morning it felt totally worth it!

Me and Rebecca in our lovely red work braces!

Moi and the Sugarmill Waitresses!

Thursday was spent being good to myself and sat in the sunshine down at Rushcutters and finished Sookie Stackhouse no.5 and preparing my body (or should I say liver) for the night out on Friday! Wal abandoned us and went out with his work mates for his own leaving do (and his 2nd night on the 8.5% beer!) so me, Saran, Dunk, Mikey and his friend Katie all went to Club Blink. A metal night that I had finally tracked down. (They are far and few between here in Sydney!) We had such a great night. There was a band on and then some awesome tunes in the main room.

Looking Good! (No idea who the random arm is!)
Happy!!

Saran busting his moves to impress the ladies!
After Club Blink we bobbed into the Supper Club in KK where Saran was getting hit on by some very questionable older ladies and then onto a swift stop at the pizza shop and back to the hostel.
A great night that somehow resulted in a full on water fight in the room???
No idea who or how it started but I was ganged up on and absolutley soaked. Very funny.

Big Bully!
Good Gay fun eh boys! Ha!!
My last memory is a huge bang, a sharp pain and a lot of laughing. From the small piece of memory I have I recall rolling over and falling out of my bed which is a top bunk, smacking my side on the table and laying laughing on the floor whilst Dunk came to my rescue! Good job I'd had a few shandy's or it would have hurt a whole lot more I think! Idiot.

Ouch!
Saturday was an absolutely blazing hot day and knowing we were up early on Sunday morning for Soundwave we where planning a quiet one. Still involved a few summer ciders naturally. It was probably the last day that all of us from Leeds where gonna be together so really enjoyed it.

Our last pic all together for a wee while!
Maff the Peg Leg!
Treat ourselves at 'The Down Under Bar' for some Kangaroo and Croc Burgers then went back to the hostel to drift to sleep...........and like all good boys and girls this was all before 8pm!

SOUNDWAVE!!!

We where all up bright and early after 12 hours of sleep (even though Maff did wake us up in the middle of the night by constantly swearing when awake and even in his sleep) to head to Olympic Park for Soundwave festival.

Excited much??
Awesome day, awesome bands. Favourites of the day where, Queens of the Stone Age, The Bronx, The Melvins and Primus. I was even all prepared to have Slayer make me love them but they pulled out 5 mins before they where due to come on stage so I'll never know........ Must have been the pressure of knowing I would be in the crowd analysing them!

Saran and Wal showing the Universal signs for 'Kings Cross'
Big Mustard Fingers!
Ate too much burger
Queens of the Stone Age
Iron Maiden
It was a bit different to the festivals we are used to in England though, it was clean, organised, no massive queues for the toilets (of which where also clean and had a constant flow or toilet roll??) There where no bins on fire, no crazy drunken louts, and it was all done and dusted by 10pm on the dot and everyone left in an orderly manner??? Madness! I actually prefer UK style but it was still an awesome festival all the same!

So that was the (very long but brilliant) weekend. So I finally feel ready to head up to Queensland for some tranquility.........and maybe some sleep.
Night Night!
